Flash Fiction: Clock

Edgar, Allan, and Poe were at their weekly green session.

Edgar spoke up.

“Bros…let’s play the What Am I Talking About Game, yes?”

His friends simply nodded in agreement. Edgar continued.

“So…I see an old Church, that has many minarets and..”

Poe thwarted Allan.

“Bro..it’s the damn clock.”

Edgar clapped.

“Whoa…! It is almost as if you read my mind, bro.”

“Man, the clock is right there…”

“Oh, right!”

Allan sat up.

“Now me! I see…a cross, and towers..”

Allan and Poe contemplated momentarily, and shrugged

“No idea…”

  1. I don’t quite get it, maybe because English isn’t my native tongue and pop culture references and the like often escapes me. Of course there’s the E.A.Poe reference… then they call church towers minarets and get it, but the cross and towers they don’t. Is this Bro speech?

    1. You got the Poe reference! 😀

So..I was just going for the ‘lovable-stoners’ trope..with bro and all..

Cross and towers is the same thing as Church and minarets..so essentially he describes the same clock again..but since they are high..they don’t get it! 😉
