I followed my professor to the last stop of our tour, the purpose of which was to educate us about our history.
He stood with his back to the ginormous horse-head statues and cleared his throat, indicating the need for silence.
“We come to the end of our trip around the country, at the statues that pay homage to beginning of our country, the reason we breathe free air, our two horse lords that aided us in the freedom struggle.”
I raised my hand and fired a quick question at the professor – “Sir, if we are indeed paying homage to something so significant, why did we only put up their heads, should we not have constructed the entire body of our lords?”
My question left the professor scratching his bald head, pondering over the answer and my classmates with a funny, if not fun end to the boring tour…

Pssst..Why not try your hand at my challenge: The Wacky Weekend Challenge
It will be fun! 🙂
May be you embarrassed your prof this time. Remember he will have umpteen number of opportunities to humiliate you, if he is mean. Don’t mess with a. croc, if you plant to live in water.

Fair enough! 😉
Although I do feel it wasn’t embarrassing for the prof..if he genuinely does not know..he could find out and teach! 🙂

Haha! There’s always one like this in the class.. the ones who love to keep the professors on the toes. Great story, Nidheesh.

I find it rather sad that an educational tour on the history of your country should be boring.
You are obviously not a Scot, our past is many things, but never dull!

Guilty as charged!
Although, I do believe no country has a boring history..
However I also believe loads of people find history boring (me not being one)! 🙂

Seems like a non-fiction/memoir kinda story. Were you the one with the question that made your mates laugh and the professor cringe? I agree with ceayr that history isn’t boring but I think it is often a bit frustrating. Thanks for sharing your lines.

I wasn’t the culprit in this particular case! 🙂
However, I have asked a lot of questions in history class, because I enjoy the subject! 😀

Oh, don’t we all know someone who is very much like the lead character of your story?

Always one with the question that needs asking! I’m with Ian, quick answer would have been budget restraints and nodding agreement! Nice use of educate too
