Flash Fiction: Summoner

The book showed promise.

As an aspiring mage, I could confidently state that I knew a few things about magic. I knew the basic elemental and kinetic spells. However, I wanted to be a summoner.

The ancient book held all the spells I needed. Summoning animals seemed like an interesting starting point. I read out the incantation and felt the spell work its magic.

The horse and cat in my vicinity began climbing the hill, approaching me. The spell was perfect. A little too perfect. I underestimated its potency.

The spell had summoned animals from the other world as well…
