Six sentence story

Flash Fiction: Exhausted

Living on as a survivor is not easy in this wretched world.

I have fought countless battles through my life: For glory, for food, for money, and some times for the sheer fun of it.

In my youth I courted war, but as the years passed, my disgust of those who fuelled conflicts began increasing.

Every man that I have ever killed, every instance when I ended a life, sometimes swiftly, cleanly and sometimes slowly; they are still fresh in my memory.

I am exhausted now, awaiting a quick death.

However, my blade still remains hungry for more blood…

Flash Fiction: The Fire Mage

We were never promised a glorious battle nor death worthy of remembrance.

All we understood was that if we did not fight our hardest, the dark king would slay our loved ones, and ravage our lands.

The Dark King’s minions were summoned from the blackest depths of earth, where no men wander.

Vicious and vile to the core, their only weakness was the blaze of holy fire.

As a senior mage of our kingdom, the responsibility of supporting our troops had been shifted to my shoulders.

I wasn’t the type to shun responsibility, besides I loved playing with fire…

Flash Fiction: My Scar

It is rightly said that behind every scar there is a story of survival.

My story took place many years ago, during the invasion of the dark king.

Led by our Prince, we were fighting for our survival in a battle that defined ages.

Our Prince’s eminence in warfare was unquestionable on the battlefield, as he skewered numerous dark minions in front of my eyes.

In the heat of battle I saw one minion slip behind the Prince, ready to end his life, when I jumped in between.

My sacrifice won my kingdom’s freedom and won me this scar…

Flash Fiction: Red Carpet

He put on his best smile, and began walking down the red carpet, flashing his perfect set of teeth to the cameras.

The paparazzi had all gathered to one side of the carpet.

He was unperturbed even when he knew the press wanted a piece of him.

He had been nominated for best actor this year, as he showed flashes of sheer acting brilliance, in addition to his chiseled features.

Dressed in his well fitting tuxedo, he posed for the flashing cameras.

The fitting had turned out quite tight, and as he turned, he ended up flashing the cameras…

Six Sentence Story – Flash

Flash Fiction: Experiments

Mark my words, this novel research is going to put us right into all the books out there: journals, encyclopaedias, history books; maybe even novels and comics.

We are going to become celebrities not only in the science community, but even in the outside world.

Now, we only need to hope that this experiment works during the trials.

The serum should have the same effect as it had on mice.

If it gives the mice intelligence in comparison to humans, imagine what it would do for human subjects.

Aren’t you in agreement about starting human trials early, Dr. Mouse?

Flash Fiction: Invader

The invader had arrived, earlier than predicted.

We had heard from our scouts about this gigantic monster that devoured everything in its path.

Its skin was material unlike any we had seen, a shade of poisonous purple.

We realised that none of our weapons had any effect on it, at a heavy cost.

Our contraption was the last hope we had to get away from the invader, one rope way to freedom.

I watch as my tribe escapes and I stay behind to buy them time, one last charge!!

Kira’s Sunday Scribbles

Flash Fiction: Fall

The sun set upon the bloody battlefield as the soldiers began their homeward return, battered and broken, but victorious.

The victors would call it a glorious battle, while the defeated would never speak about it, for they were all dead.

Everyone had fallen, the archers, the pikemen, the knights, even the Black King himself, all had embraced the insensitivity of death.

The battle had begun with the now-victors cowering under the blazes spewed by the great dragon, mount of the Black King.

It was only a lucky bolt that pierced through the dragon’s scales, punctured its heart and brought the dragon crashing down into the sea.

As the sun falls from the sky, the dragon’s body sinks further into the depths of water, soon to be forgotten, unlike the horrors of war…

Flash Fiction: Belong

I was cast out into the shadows by society, because of I never agreed with its norms.

It refused to accept me into its ranks, and minced no words in letting me know why.

Sometimes I looked different, talked different, ate different, had no money, had a different sexual difference, thought different, just different.

But every time, the simple reason was that I did not fit in the society’s mold and I was kicked to the curb for that reason.

Left all alone, one day suddenly, society decided to walk up to me, offered its help in standing back up.

I spat on the hand of society, for if society is as such, I would rather not belong to it…

This tale is not like any of those classics humans are used to reading, where the hero always wins and good triumphs over evil.

No, this is reality and it turns out as dark as I deem it to be.

Now, this poor man who stumbled on to my lair in search of adventure, will be given one he could never have seen even in his worst nightmares.

There is no way back for him now, that way was shut by me, the artist that will paint his dark fate.

Rise now, my deadly minion and act as the instrument of my malice, and become a force of destruction.

Tear apart your victims with your nails, pierce them with your horns, rise now, and fear no opponent

I stared at the skull in disbelief, which stared back with its hollow eyes  into my very soul, chilling my blood in the process.

Wanting to get as far away from it, I took a step back, and heard a sharp crunch, that echoed all around me.

I looked down slowly, and to my horror, I saw that I had stepped on bones, and that in fact, the entire floor was covered with them.

The cold voice spoke once again, “Now do you see the futility of your refusal?”

Other than the bones surrounding me, I could see nothing but an all-encompassing darkness, which meant that the voice was right, and the only way forward was to drink the milk and accept the offer.

Just as I thought that, the carton of milk reappeared and levitated in front of me, waiting for me to drink it up.
