Mom, where’s the power supplement I invented?

“What power supplement?”

The Super Soldier Powder -The one that causes an instant muscle pump!

“Are you sure you know what you are talking about, for I have no idea about it, have never even seen it before.”

Mom, I know I kept it on the storage shelf, in the old bottle of hot chocolate, did someone take it?

Flash Fiction: Writing in the Sand

Detective Burns knew that he could not afford to waste any time because innocent lives were at stake.

In truth, when the call was received, Burns had ignored it as a prank, since no sane person would call and indifferently declare three murders.

However, upon inquiry, Burns realized that three people had indeed been reported missing.

Heart thumping in his chest, Burns reached the beach, at the location specified by the caller.

As soon as he saw the two Ks etched in the sand, Burns teared up.

The buried, hacked bodies confirmed the return of the Krooked Killer.

As the trio reached the edge of the forest, they looked upon the neighborhood from their vantage point.

Medusa’s chaotic art was on display. Dozens of statues decorated the silent town-centre. The neighborhood had been stripped of all its pace, and brought to a complete stand still. Billy gasped.

“She is such a monster.”

Perseus snorted.

“We made that monster. Her appearance, her powers were all our doing. (Read more about this in Flash Fiction: Transform) She was the first of the Demigod Programme.”

Keynes interjected.

“As I recall, she volunteered…”

Perseus interrupted, pointing in the neighborhood’s direction.

“Target sighted.”
