It stood all alone on one of the tables. A pool of water had formed around the now-half melted ice sculpture. The watery mess was given fair distance by all the guests.
The party had been quite a hit otherwise. The guests had thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of food and drinks. They had appreciated the carefully picked selection of songs played by the live orchestra. It had been a grandiose night for the host and his wife, who were immaculately clad in their signature black wear. After the guests had left, the host spoke to his wife.
