Flash Fiction: The Modern Lion

The pair of lion cubs stared back at us with innocent mirth in their eyes, while we halted our jeeps to get a clear shot of those radiant faces, training our cameras on the duo, waiting with bated breath, looking for an award winning picture of the lions showing their natural instinct.

The tongues propped out first, a lip-smacking image it would be we thought, we gazed in amazement as the right paws came up following the tongues, and then grew shocked as the paw curled into a victory sign.

We forgot these were modern lions, they knew the vain ways of posing for photos.
