Twittering Tale: Intervention

I’m the only one against the idea.

Everyone else seemed okay with it. We wait in the kitchen while the two sort out their differences outside. I’m unsure about leaving the two unsupervised. With them things tend to fly out of proportion.

Thank God, this party has a no-guns theme…

Three Line Tale: Pool Party

The pool looked alluring under the clear starry skies, catching the fancy of all eyes that gazed upon it.

I knew that no one would refuse an invitation to a party at my pool, simply because of its legendary reputation: The Helen among pools, if I may call it so.

A pity that the reputation would get tarnished soon, but then again, I think its a fair exchange for the elimination of all my business rivals through a quick electrocution…

Flash Fiction: House Party

Cass was a nightmare in white silk and pearls. However, her appearance was a beautiful dream in comparison to house we had arrived at.

Exiting the car, I stood gazing at the house in disbelief. There was not way any one would host a Halloween party in this ramshackle cottage. It seemed abandoned, looking more like a terrorist hideout than a party pad. Cass gasped.

“Isn’t this location just too adorable?”

I sighed. Cass loved horror. I on the other hand, hated it.

“I think we have got the wrong location. Or this was some sort of prank. Let’s go back to town?”

Cass began walking towards the house.

“Nope. The address is right. Might as well check it out.”

I trudged behind her, adjusting my mask. As we reached the front door, I could hear music and jovial chatter coming from inside. Cass rung the bell. A tall, pale person dressed up in knight’s armour opened the door.

“Welcome to the party. I am your host, the headless horseman.”

He proceeded to completely dislodge his head from his neck, as one might doff a hat. I looked at Cass, who stared back at me with wide eyes….

FOWC with Fandango — Adorable

Flash Fiction: Ice Sculpture

It stood all alone on one of the tables. A pool of water had formed around the now-half melted ice sculpture. The watery mess was given fair distance by all the guests.

The party had been quite a hit otherwise. The guests had thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of food and drinks. They had appreciated the carefully picked selection of songs played by the live orchestra. It had been a grandiose night for the host and his wife, who were immaculately clad in their signature black wear. After the guests had left, the host spoke to his wife.

“Darling Persephone, why did you think it was a good idea to have an ice sculpture placed in our party? Hell is so hot, after all.”
