The pool had earned a solid reputation.

Its waters slowed aging. The rich flocked to swim in the pool. They paid the hefty entry fees and swore by the effects. Only years later did they discover the village drainage pipes connecting to the pool.

The villagers avenged their past….

  1. haha! I did read that there is one cenote pool in the middle of a town that does have the town’s sewage feeding into it. But yes…that would be the ultimate revenge. Loved your tale! 🙂

  2. Oh, that created an image in my head that made me gag… great writing! The mere thought of swimming in that kind of sludge. When I was in the Yucatan and saw several of these places up close, they were NOT someplace I’d ever wish to swim… all slimy and the smell… not even going to go there….
